SHINÉ - Shamanta Meditation

Shiné - Traditional Tibetan Shamatha Meditation. Shi means peace and Nè means to stay. (In Sanskrit, Shinè is Shamantha) In Shinè meditation, or Calm-abiding, we train our mind to be focused, relaxed and able to do
what we need it to. We learn the nine stages of concentration on the way to calm-abiding. On our way in the meditation, we need to watch our monkey mind to be able to know how to change it. We use different mental techniques to observe, become aware and we learn how to become
focused. Our mind is used to be distracted by external objects. We are even searching happiness and
satisfaction outside of ourselves.
